Is Chess.com Down? How to Check if it’s Not Working?

Do you like playing on the Chess.com platform but have trouble accessing it? Do you think the server is down or under maintenance?

Chess.com is my preferred platform for playing chess online, but there are occasions when the platform is inaccessible, or the server is down. This is a common issue, not just for Chess.com, but it should not discourage you from learning chess or playing online.

The good news is that there are a few things you can do to check and see if chess.com is down. This article will include websites that can be used to determine if Chess.com is down.

How do we check if Chess.com is down?

You can use a website monitoring application wherein they ping Chess.com using their server and will show results like the below:

You will see that the result displays “Chess.com is UP and reachable by us” will also include “response time” and “last down”; otherwise, the website monitoring application will display red and say something like “down” or that the website is “offline.”

Also, some website monitoring applications utilize an automated website uptime checker. In addition, they provide step-by-step troubleshooting instructions.

I have found five free website monitoring applications that are working that you can use.

Which websites to use to check if Chess.com is down or up?

1. Isitdownrightnow.com

This website analyzes the status of other websites and determines if they are offline. The website status checker available on the isitdownrightnow.com website allows you to verify the status of a website using your browser's toolbar.

You can also check if the website is down just for you or for everyone around the globe.

3. Downforeveryoneorjustme.com

The third website monitoring application is downforeveryoneorjustme.com; what's awesome about this website is that it checks if the URL domain you are checking is down for you or for everyone.

If the issue affects everyone, you can assume that Chess.com maintenance will handle it; if it only affects you, you will need to perform some troubleshooting.
